An open letter to great dive shops everywhere
Foreword, after writing the original post I was reminded of the reality of our situation. When we left London the intention was to have an amazing adventure and find something to do and somewhere we loved but it was never to leave my poor mums house full of our stuff forever.
So having found something to do and many places we love it looks like we’re going back to Blighty for a little while to sort out our stuff, see friends and family before deciding where the future lies for us. We’ve done pretty well so far trusting our path will open up in the right way and it will be lovely to see friends and family but ooooh I am so NOT looking forward to wearing shoes

Hi! Happy almost New Year or Happy New Year if you’re reading this in 2017! What a year this can be! You could end up employing me 😉
You see I am looking for a job, but not just any job, I want to be the best scuba instructor I can possibly be. I want to work with people who actually like people and who give a crap about the environment, people who not only know what PADI standards are but who also stick to them. I would like to live, teach and dive where the diving is beautiful and invigorating and mostly warm. I’m just as comfortable on small quiet islands with no transport as big traffic filled ones and I am looking for somewhere I can get fully involved, that values customer and staff safety and happiness as much as having a profitable business.
So what do I bring to the table?
I’m a newly qualified OWSI with my EFRI, Eanx, wreck, night, underwater naturalist and drift instructor specialities looking for my first role in the dive industry. I’m British; I know right, an absolute plus as a starter! I am in my forties, conscientious, confident and easy going with great interpersonal skills matched with excellent administrative and organisational skills from my former life as a top notch executive assistant. I speak conversational French and have a full driving license – manual obviously. I’m computer savvy on both pcs and macs, have wide social media expertise having built up and passed on several media accounts with 10k+ followers and have a budding familiarity with WordPress, so would be able to help behind the scenes as well as in the water.
I travel with my very own husband, handy right, although you don’t need to employ him, he’s writing a novel and will just keep me occupied when I’m not working my heart out for you.
I learnt to dive in August 2015 having overcome a lifelong fear of being eaten by a shark, who knew they didn’t find people so tasty – we should really spread the word about that. You also need to know that I dive on nitrox having experienced skin bends, I’ve since had a full dive medical and am cleared to dive and have had no recurrence in my last 100+ dives. I believe the experience makes me much more aware of what can happen and even more safety conscious.
The photo is me, except I’ve shaved off the moustache, turns out they can be pretty aging.
I’m available to start work 6th January onwards, currently in Bangkok and can get most places (Indo, Philippines etc)pretty sharpish. Thanks for reading; I would love to hear from you if you’d like to know more.
