Crazy Ivans
I’ve never wanted to own or run a business. I’ve had several entrepreneurial exes who thought it would be a great idea, which practically brought me out in hives. So it was a surprise to everyone, me most of all, when we started toying with ideas that would enable us to stay on this little slice of the world we have been calling home. I blame the lovely people on this little island. They make it practically impossible to want to leave. That and the whole sun shining all the time thing anyway. And once the idea was born it has grown into a fully formed adolescent, teenage angst and all! I don’t think I’ve been this excited in adulthood about anything, my lovely husband aside.
We’ve paid proportionally vast sums of money to set up the business legally, bank accounts are in the process of being opened, websites designed, literature poured over. Suppliers searched for and all the myriad of minutiae that goes with starting a business. Only one hurdle (I say wryly as starting a business, as anyone who has done so will know, is one hurdle after another) is that the office of manpower has overhauled its entire application process and our work permits, initially expected end of November, are now likely to come at the end of January AT THE EARLIEST! Oh dear.
So, like the sensible puppies we are (ahahahahahahahahaha) we moved a pre-existing flight to the UK and are heading there to earn some moola before we can return and start our latest adventure here. An unexpected turn of events, but isn’t that the great thing about life, you can pull a Crazy Ivan whenever you feel like it, it is after all, your life Xx
nb. Am disheartened folk don’t know what a Crazy Ivan is, but overjoyed that you get to experience the awesomeness that is. In The Hunt for Red October, go forth and watch it and be educated and entertained Xx
How exciting! (even if I don’t know what a Crazy Ivan is or what the business is that you are starting…) Best of luck to you and JHubz. Your passion will carry you far.
xxoo
You have to watch The Hunt for Red October, which, let’s face it, is not a chore because it is AWESOME!
I’m cheering you on! I am excited for you two! Lots of love!
Thank you so much Jen! Exciting times ahead Xx
