PADI OWSI, woohoo!
I could not have imagined two years ago that I would be here today, a PADI certified open water scuba instructor. Because two years ago I did not dive 🐬🐟
I owe so many thanks to all of the wonderful instructors and divemasters I have encountered along the way but special mention needs to go to my fantastic dive instructors from Skinny Lizard Lorenzo and Janine at Redang Kalong in Malaysia, to Sulman, Waz and Nico at Blue Marlin on Gili Meno and Catur, Gede, Eaz, Jack, Komang, Geraldi, Ben and of course John at World Diving on Nusa Lembongan for being such an amazing teacher and role model and showing me what a truly great dive shop looks like and Bas from Dive Careers for getting me through the last two weeks so skillfully. I also need to thank my lovely friends and family for not thinking I was nuts, or not saying so if they did 😜 and most of all I need to thank JHubz for supporting and encouraging me every step of the way 🐙💕🐙💕
I was not a fan of school and never really found anything worth applying myself to and even though I enjoyed a career I loved and was great at (Modesty is obviously my best attribute), it has been a wonderful experience to excel in my Instructor Exams with ninety six percent on the general standards and procedures exam, getting one wrong and forgetting to go back to one I wanted to look at again so leaving it blank, doh! I also scored one hundred percent on four of the five sections in Theory, getting one question wrong in the fifth. What a fantastic big old nerd I have become, woohoo! All of my confined and open water practicals were also passed with top scores and during our open water rescue scenario a whaleshark swam by to say good luck bumping into one of my fellow candidates as if it’s metre tall tail was not enough to get our attention 😂🐋🐋
I am also particularly looking forward to working with people like me who are scared of the sea, helping them to overcome their fears and embrace the wonderful world that exists within our oceans. I guess when you find something you are incredibly passionate about miracles can happen. Keep believing in you and keep believing in your dreams, you never know what is possible until you try Xx
That is so amazingly cool! Congratulations!
Thank you! I still can’t quite believe it 😉
