Lists lists and more lists

There is so much to think of my head might explode and then no trip, so I’m trying to avoid that, seems sensible. I’m a bit of an organisational wizard, (modest too) want something done, I’ll make it happen, pretty much anything you can imagine, it’s my gift, it’s easy but this…this mammoth exciting terrifying task is pretty darn head explode worthy.

I’m trying to take on board the seemingly much repeated adage ‘don’t over plan’ *deep breath* But…but but but…some things do need more thought than others, what to take being one, after much research we are decided (PHEW A DECISION MADE) on a rucksack with wheels, these seem to be the luggage of choice of the long term traveller, 95% of the time wheeling the case as with any luggage and then having the invaluable option to hoist it up onto your back for the remaining 5. We’ve been to see the Osprey Sojourn 80 which seems to tick all the boxes, we’re now waiting for a 60L to come in for us to compare. I’d like to see a few more options in the flesh and then that will be another item to add to the bizarrely short packing list.

I’m both thrilled and appalled that all we will have with us needs to fit into one small case. It’s utterly liberating and just a teensy weensy bit panic inducing for a gal with a walk in wardrobe, large chest of drawers and another 6 foot wide wardrobe filled to the brim with clothes, shoes, handbags and hats, eek!!

Flights next, specifically where to get our main flights to, we’re toying with London, Bangkok, Sydney, Bangkok, Montreal, San Fran, London, but that’s all it is so far, toying, on this, amongst other things, we’ll be seeking the advice of the experts before progressing the plan.

We’re making a sheet of all the places we want to visit, the best time to go, the customs, visas, any concerns and once we’ve done that we plan to plot a rough route around Asia, setting in maybe one or two firm dates and letting the rest flow.

Ma’s already said she’d like to join us for China and hopefully we’ll get others joining us throughout the trip. My bestie, the one in the photos, is thinking of moving back home to Oz so we’ll have the pleasure of exploring Vanuatu and other parts with her and her Hubz.

*head explodes*

One thing at a time little one, let’s focus on where first and when and go from there shall we *nods approvingly*
